Obituary

Carole Ann Latham, née Blozis, passed away on June 16, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Daniel and Isabel Blozis, she grew up in Arizona and California before eventually making her way east with her growing family, calling Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina home at different seasons of her life. Wherever she lived, she created a loving and welcoming home.

Carole held a degree in chemistry and graphic design, but the work she chose above all else was the care of the people around her. She was a woman of Christian faith, guided by humility, compassion and generosity. Her children carry her words with them still: "Be honorable — do the right thing, be kind and work hard."  Those words were not merely said, they were modeled.

Her creativity was evident in every corner of her home. She upholstered sofas, sewed drapes and pillows, turned wood into lamps and candleholders, practiced calligraphy and made wall art from her own photography. Each room was a puzzle to solve and her solutions were always warm, comforting and organic. Outside of the home, she found joy in swing dancing, going to church and making new friends.

Carole is survived by her ex-husband Keith Latham; her children Mark, Angela, Kelly, Eric, and Caitlin; and her grandchildren Olive, Vincent, Violet, McKenna, and Campbell. She is preceded in death by her son Michael, who passed in 1985, and her daughter Brooke, who passed in 2019.

A private family memorial will be held.
