Devon Kenneth Mills

Devon Kenneth Mills, 59, of Mebane, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 11, 1967, to Kenneth and Marcia Mills, Devon was known from an early age for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and caring nature. He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious sense of humor, unwavering dedication to those he loved, and his ability to make every gathering a little brighter.

Devon devoted much of his life to helping build and grow his father's company, Alert Driver. Through decades of hard work, integrity, and commitment, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues, customers, and friends throughout North Carolina. He took great pride in his work and in the legacy he helped create.

Outside of work, Devon found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved golfing, fishing, woodworking, cooking, and sharing stories that somehow became even better with each telling. Whether he was preparing an elaborate meal, spending a day on the golf course, or traveling the world, his generosity and patience made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all else, Devon's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, daughter, mother, father, and his beloved dog, Riva. Some of his happiest memories were made on family vacations to the beach, taking the boat out on the water, traveling to new places, enjoying a round of golf, or simply spending quality time together at home. His love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Devon was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Mills.

He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Julia Mills; his wife, Julie Rice; and his mother, Marcia Mills.

Devon will be remembered for his kindness, strength, laughter, and the unwavering love he shared with his family and friends. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the lives he touched. His love, wisdom, and generous spirit will remain in the hearts of those who knew him forever.

In accordance with Devon's wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held. His family appreciates the love, support, and condolences they have received during this difficult time and asks that Devon be remembered in your own special way.
