Elizabeth Ruth Marling

November 13, 1958 — February 17, 2026

Youngsville, NC

Elizabeth Ruth Marling passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family.

Elizabeth was the beloved wife of Mark Marling, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She was a devoted mother to Jason Marling, Jared Marling, John Mark Marling (wife Lesley Marling), Amy McIntosh (husband Sean McIntosh), and Annie Mathis (husband James Mathis).

Elizabeth was a proud and loving grandmother to Sydney and Landon McIntosh; Anthoni, Ayden, Nylian, and Amina Marling; and Ruby, Jack, Bowie, and Briggs Mathis. Her grandchildren were a great joy in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

She is also survived by her mother, Billie Grant. She was preceded in death by her father, Warden West, and her stepmother, Sherry West.

Elizabeth dedicated her career as a labor and delivery nurse, where her compassion, strength, and selflessness touched countless lives. Caring for others came naturally to her, both professionally and personally—she was always giving of herself.

Outside of her work, Elizabeth found joy in gardening and treasured the fellowship of her women’s Bible study at Devoted City Church. Above all, she had a strong and unwavering faith in Jesus, which guided her life and brought her peace.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her loving heart, her servant’s spirit, and her deep devotion to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in her memory.

A memorial will be held in her honor on Saturday February 21,2026 at North Terrace Church of Christ in Zanesville, OH from 2-4pm.
