James Charles Jenkins

James (Jim) Charles Jenkins, 72 years old, of Oxford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Friday, the first day of Spring, March 20, 2026, at home.  

Born in Bath, New York, on September 5, 1953, then growing up in Hammondsport, New York.   He was the son of James A Jenkins and Carol G. Jenkins, .

A celebration of life is planned for April 18, 2026, at 3:00pm at Bullock Baptist Church, 4078 Buckhorn Rd, Bullock, NC.

Jim served in the US Army for four years followed by 28 years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons retiring as a Discipline Hearing Officer (DHO).   He worked at many institutions prior to making his home in North Carolina.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Wanda P. Jenkins, three sons, James M Garrett Jr. of Oxford. James Charles Jenkins II, of Michigan and Joshua Alexander Jenkins, also of Michigan, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by siblings, one sister, Judith Jenkins Cass, of Oswego, New York, and two brothers, Christopher William Jenkins and Robert Joseph Jenkins, both of Hammondsport, NY. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
