Kenneth Mccoy Lord

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of Kenneth McCoy Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the age of 65. Ken was born October 28, 1959, in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, to mother Marie Louise McCoy and father Stanley Byron Lord (both deceased).

Ken completed grade school in Ben Avon, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lansdowne High School in Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, in 1979 and graduated with a degree in Anthropology/Geology in 1983. After working as a police officer in Plantation, Florida, Ken attended the University of Florida and graduated with a doctorate of philosophy in Geology in 1987. He later earned his Law degree at Cornell University School of Law in 1996. During his time at Cornell, Ken met Satrina Rene Hilliard. The couple was married in Kenai, Alaska, on September 5, 1997. Ken and Satrina welcomed their first child, Ryan Mark Lord, on August 27, 1998, and their daughter, MacKenzie Danielle Lord, on April 27, 2004. Ken retired in July 2024 and moved to Durham, North Carolina, in October 2024.

Ken is survived by his wife, Satrina Lord, his son Ryan, his daughter Mackenzie, and his sister, Sherrill A. Lord. Ken will be remembered with abiding love by extended family, including two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many friends and associates in the West and Eastern portions of the United States. A memorial gathering was held on Thursday, March 20, at 4:00 p.m. at Endswell Funeral Home , 407 Meadowlands Drive, Hillsborough, NC 27278. A recording of this service can be viewed below.
