Larry Arnett, age 75, of Lexington, NC, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. He was born in Washington, GA, to the late Harrison Miller Arnett and Gladys Anthony Arnett.
Larry was a private and humble man whose life was centered around his family and friends. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Vietnam Veteran. Following his military service, he worked as an automotive mechanic and later in the Lexington-Thomasville furniture industry. He was also among the ten students who desegregated Lexington Senior High School, a history-making role he carried with quiet dignity.
Larry enjoyed yard work, computers, and cars, and was known for his devotion to serving those he loved. A lifelong Methodist, he was deeply spiritual, spending time in Bible studies and carrying his faith with him in all he did.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings. He was the second of ten children, a devoted father to three daughters—NaTosha Murphy-Sampson of Winston-Salem, NC, Cassie Brenker of Stoneville, NC, and Larrine Arnett of Sandford, NC—and a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren. He also leaves behind a loving family of seven brothers and sisters: Hazel Ervin, Carolyn Arnett, Martha Holley, Juanita Arnett, Harriett Cooper, Christopher Arnett, and Harrison Arnett, Jr, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Larry's life and legacy of humility, service, and love will be forever cherished by his family and friends.
Those who wish to pay their final respects are welcome to join us as we honor our father’s life and service.
