Margaret Caryl Pennington

Margaret Pennington, Durham artist and madwoman, passed away peacefully on February 20th 2026 at the age of 68. She was known for her intelligence, kindness, sense of humor, and disrespect for the laws of man and nature. She spent her life creating art and has enriched the lives of many with her work. She was a valued and beloved member of her church community and was loved in turn. She is survived by her children Beth Belton and Jeremy Belton, and her grandchildren Gareth Belton, Tristan Mitchell, and Autumn Harris. A casual memorial will be held at Beth's in Durham on Thursday, February 26th from 6:00pm and a funeral service will be held at Durham Presbyterian Church, 2504 N Roxboro St, on Friday, February 27th at 2 pm.
