Obituary

It is with sadness in our hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Marianne Setter on October 24th, 2026, in Durham North Carolina, surrounded by loved ones. With family being the center of her life, she brought everyone together and showed up when others were in a time of need. She was loving, caring, and had a curiosity for life. She was a safe place to share your thoughts, a trusted friend who listened without judgment, and a mentor who offered wisdom, encouragement, and guidance. She had a special way of making others feel heard, understood, and loved. Even during her own difficult journey with adrenal cortical carcinoma, her spirit was continuously caring for others. She spent her career working for AAA and Allstate, as a Claims Investigator, forming lifetime friendships. She is survived by her children Cassie Jackson and Bradley Setter, her partner Alan Cameron, son-in-law Drew Jackson and grandchildren Beruk, Judah, and Haven. One of eight children, she is survived by her siblings: Dennis Setter, Pat Setter, Sue Peake, Sandy Domm, Cyndi McNichol and Tim Setter. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Mary Ann Setter, brother Danny Setter, and nephew Paul Setter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 5th, 2026, in Michigan. This open house will be from 2-7 pm at 15488 Fairlane Dr. Livonia, MI 48154. At 4pm we will have a short service with eulogies, readings, and special music to honor Marianne's life.

Please feel free to dress as you wish, remembering Marianne's joy and love of color.

In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Emma Cameron Foundation would honor her memory.
