Nancy Ann Rogers, affectionately known as Bunny – beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at 11:11 pm, on Thursday, October 16, 2025 – 24 days after her 79th birthday.
Intelligent and kind, Bunny Rogers filled her life with passion, creativity, and love for her family. A military brat, Bunny moved from her birthplace, McAlester Oklahoma, to Sindai Japan when she was 6 years old. She grew up in Yokohama Japan, and subsequently lived in many places as a child. She went from Fort Bragg NC, to Trieste Italy, to Heidelberg Germany, to Goldsboro NC, to Charlotte NC, and finally to Chapel Hill NC by the time she was 18. Bunny graduated from Chapel Hill High School, Class of 1964.
Following graduation, Bunny moved to Washington DC, and worked at the Pentagon. She maintained a secret clearance for several years before moving back to Oklahoma, earning her MBA from Oklahoma City University, Class of 1977. As a graduate student, Bunny also served as head of the Oklahoma City chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), where she met her husband.
Robert Good, also known as Bob, married Bunny on Saturday, November 27th, 1976. This Thanksgiving would have marked their 49th wedding anniversary. Three years after they married, Bunny and Bob moved to Fayetteville, Georgia. Bunny gave birth to their son, Michael, and soon after adopted their daughter Leslie from Korea. Bunny pursued being a stay-at-home mom and raising her children. After 20 years, Bunny decided to brave parenthood again. Bunny was 55 years young when she received the "magic phone call" to adopt two baby girls from Vietnam, Madelyn and Mary.
Bunny found immense joy in collecting various treasures and had a special knack for sewing and quilting. An avid sewist, a doll enthusiast, and a master gardener, she loved spending time outdoors and gardening in the sunshine. In 1992, Bunny's blooming paradise was featured in the first annual Great Gardens of Fayette Tour. This tour presented eight of the most celebrated gardens in the area. Bunny was a founding member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and one of the first Master Gardeners in Fayette County.
In 1997, Bunny turned her lifelong doll interest into a business, opening The Good Bunny Doll Shop, the only specialty doll shop south of Marietta. Notable designers in her collection included those by Madame Alexander, Annette Himstedt, Raikes Bears, Steiff, Robert Tonner, Dakin, and Corolle.
Soon, Carolina called. In 2009, only 30 years after leaving, Bunny moved back to Chapel Hill, which held a special place in her heart. In 2018, Bunny launched The Good Bunny Doll Shop as an online business, exclusively selling her own creations, custom doll clothes tailored to fit 18" dolls.
Bunny loved living in Chapel Hill. She led a remarkable life planting seeds, crafting, and cultivating natural beauty. Centered around koi ponds and a little white dog, her flower beds have been the subjects of much love, devotion, and tender care.
