Nicholas James Dawkins

Nicholas James Dawkins, 53, of Hillsborough, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 25, 1971, in San Francisco, California, to Richard Dawkins (who predeceased him) and Mary Devitt Dawkins, Nicholas was a deeply devoted husband and father. He spent his early years in Westchester County, New York, before moving to North Carolina, where he made Carrboro and Hillsborough his homes.

A veteran of the United States Army, Nicholas graduated from Elon University in 1997. He then embarked on a successful 23-year career at AT&T, where he was a celebrated and respected colleague.

Nicholas will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as a dedicated husband to Deidre, a devoted father to Colin Jack and Aurelia, a loving son to Mary Boardman, a caring brother to Marantha Sedutto and Caleb Dawkins and their spouses, William Sedutto and Colin Bertram, and a cherished uncle to Richard Sedutto. He is also survived by his godparents, Jim and Dorothy Devitt. Nick was a protector, guiding force and loyal friend to many .
