Born on April 8, 2025, Opheliya Lynn Eloise Brown—affectionately known as Philly, Opal, or Opie—was a joyful and serene light to all who knew her. Though her time with us was brief, her radiant smile, gentle laughter, and sweet spirit touched countless hearts.
She is survived by her devoted parents, Brandon and Candyce Brown; her loving big sister, Banyn Ellyana Layne Brown; her twin sister, Aureliya Eleciya Raine Brown; her devoted grandparents Baldwin Brown and Lorranine Mayo-Brown; Anthony And Belinda Shuford; Aunt Loren Brown; Uncles Asa Shuford and Braxton Brown. Along with a host of loving cousins, Great Grandmothers; Great Aunts; Uncles and friends. To her parents and grandparents, she was truly seen as a precious gift from Jehovah.
Opheliya will always be remembered as a calm, content, and happy baby girl—soothing yet full of joy. Her bright little face and warm dimples brought comfort and delight to all who held her. She cherished her waking hours surrounded by family, often joining evening walks and gazing at Jehovah’s beautiful creation. She especially loved being outside with her sisters, looking up at the blue sky, watching birds flutter past, and the leaves swaying gently above her. Time spent with her was a treasure, leaving behind a lasting impression of peace and happiness in every embrace.
Because of the way she radiated calm and joy, her life reminds us of Jesus’ words: “I leave you peace; my peace I give to you.” (John 14:27)
We also find strength in Jehovah’s promise: “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:4)
Until that joyful day when she is resurrected, Opheliya will remain forever in the hearts and memories of her family, friends, and congregation.
