Phyllis L. Mastrocola, lovingly known as Mimi and Aunt Philly, passed away on October 8, 2026, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, at the age of 73.

Mimi will be remembered as a funny and caring woman whose love was felt most deeply in the everyday moments she shared with those around her. She loved cooking and found joy in bringing people together through food, family, and friendship. She cherished spending time with family and friends, and her warmth made those gatherings special and memorable. She also loved walking, the beach and the mountains, and the simple happiness of being surrounded by dogs. Another of her special joys was picking out clothes for others, a reflection of her thoughtful nature and the delight she took in caring for the people she loved.

Among the things that meant the most to Mimi were the people closest to her. She was especially proud of taking care of her granddaughter, Nightingale, and of the steady love and support she gave to her husband, Larry, as well as to her son, Anthony, and daughter-in-law, Mackenzi. These acts of devotion were at the heart of who she was and will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Mastrocola; her son, Anthony Pergolotti; her daughter-in-law, Mackenzi Pergolotti; and her beloved granddaughter, Nightingale Pergolotti. In their love for her, and in the many memories they carry forward, her presence will continue to be felt.

Mimi’s life was one of care, humor, and deep affection for those around her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
