Pierre Henri DeBlanc, also known affectionately as "Pete" or "Uncle Shotty", passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2025, at his home in Sanford, North Carolina, aged 62 years old.

Pierre was born in Marrero, Louisiana and was raised across Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, to Spring, Texas. Throughout his life, he called many places home; Louisiana and Texas, Washington, Germany, Korea, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina—each chapter shaping the man so many came to know and love. But no matter where life took him, his heart remained deeply connected to Louisiana—especially the bayous he loved so much, which were always home to him.

Pierre was a fighter in every sense—never backing down from challenges and always working hard for what mattered most. He proudly served his country for 15 years in the United States Army as a Heavy Wheel Mechanic, a role that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to service. Following his honorable discharge, Pierre devoted himself fully to his most cherished role—that of a father. His love and commitment to his daughter were the guiding force of his life. In keeping with his compassion for others, he was also a longtime donor to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Pierre was a devoted Catholic and found joy being in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and shooting, and he was always ready to create unforgettable memories with those around him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Adelia Dautreuil Murphy; his father, Weldon Jr. DeBlanc; his stepfather, John T. Murphy; and his best friend, Gaston "Guy" Dautreuil.

Pierre is survived by his beloved daughter Hailey Marie DeBlanc; his siblings Louie DeBlanc, Tommy DeBlanc, Julee DeBlanc Kula, and Paul DeBlanc; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
