Rhonda Innes was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on May 21, 1934. She died at the Cedars of Chapel Hill on May 19, 2025. She married her high school sweetheart, Norman, on March 21, 1953. Thus began a 20-year career as an army wife and mother of three. Over the course of their 65 years of marriage they lived in many different locations. They moved to North Carolina in 1972, and NC has been their home since. She took on community activism and environmental policy in support of clean air and water. She was very involved in Girl Scouts. They were both great supporters of the Charlotte and then NC Symphony, as well as the concert series at the Cedars. She enjoyed sailing, gardening, sculpting, long walks in the woods, and golf croquet. She was often quick to step in and help where needed. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy, sons Bruce and Ray, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of care for the environment she and future generations live in.
