Stephanie Austin Raper Saleeby, 38, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on February 28, 2026.

Born on September 14, 1987, in Wilson, NC, she was the daughter of Steve and Toni Raper. Stephanie valued the guidance and influence of her older brother, Eric, throughout her life, fostering a relationship marked by mutual respect. Stephanie and Eric share a close bond filled with quick-witted humor and mischievous pranks that reflect their fondness for lighthearted fun and their strong sibling connection.

A graduate of Laney High School in Wilmington (2005), Stephanie continued her education at Cape Fear Community College, where she earned an Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology, followed by an Associate of Arts degree with concentration in EMT/Paramedic studies. Her professional career spanned 16 years as a certified NREMT-Paramedic, including service in the NC counties of New Hanover, Pender, Wake, Franklin, and Volusia County at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida. She also contributed to emergency medical services at Sunset Beach Ocean Rescue and Beach Patrol, served as a surf instructor at Wrightsville Beach, and worked as both a Field and Emergency Room Paramedic in Baghdad, Iraq, supporting patient care and coordinating the Walking Blood Bank at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Hospital. Stephanie maintained professionalism and dedication throughout her medical career.

She appreciated her upbringing in Wilmington, engaging in water activities such as boating, jet skiing, kayaking, and swimming. She loved her dogs and grew up with many all her life. She also valued travel and family connections, notably her Lebanese heritage. During high school, –she excelled in épée and foil fencing and was recognized at local tournaments.

Stephanie is survived by her children, Logan (6) and Scarlet (3), her mother Toni Saleeby of Wilmington, NC, her brother Eric and his wife Regina Raper, her half-sister Mary Catherine Raper, her niece Madison, nephews Dylan and Connor of Wilson, NC, along with several extended family members and friends whom are considered as family. Stephanie was predeceased by her father Steven Gene Raper.

Stephanie's legacy and professional contributions lives on through the lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit. Her life was a testament to the positive influence one person can have, inspiring others with her dedication and love. Though she is now at peace with Jesus, her memory continues to illuminate the hearts of those who knew her, reminding us to cherish every moment and to live with the same grace and compassion she exemplified.
