Suzin Purney Osborne

Suzin Josephine (Purney) Osborne, 73, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, August 31, 2025, with her loving husband and daughter by her side.

Suzin's creative spirit and loving heart shone brightly in her interactions with others. She had a profound ability to put others before herself, making every moment—no matter how big or small—a true celebration. Through her warmth and kindness, she created connections and fostered a sense of community, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed, loved, and understood.

Throughout her career, Suzin excelled as an art director and graphic designer at leading ad agencies in the Boston area. Her passion and dedication led her to establish her own design business, where she worked tirelessly with regional, national, and international clients, including various non-profits. Suzin approached each project with enthusiasm, creativity, and energy, continually inspiring those around her.

Whether embarking on local adventures or traveling internationally, Suzin embraced life with an open heart and a joyful spirit, always ready to share a laugh or create a cherished memory. Suzin loved to travel and make new friends along the way. She lived in France and Switzerland for several years, worked as a ski instructor, and traveled across Europe. Suzin loved biking, hiking, skiing, swimming and sailing.

Suzin is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Osborne; her daughter, Lia Osborne; and her sisters, Norma Myers and Janet Balabanis. She also leaves behind stepdaughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will deeply miss her presence and the joy she brought into their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Stella (Matheson) Purney, and her sister, Linda Sansoucy.

Suzin's legacy of love, creativity, and positivity will continue to inspire all who are blessed to know her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to HealthTree, an organization Suzin greatly benefitted from, dedicated to research and community for those suffering from blood cancers.
