Timothy Vincent Murray passed away on April 20, 2026 in Raleigh, NC after a long battle with cancer. Tim was born in Washington, DC on November 02, 1954 and was raised in University Park, MD.

He is survived by his siblings Molly Murray, Daniel Murray (wife Mary Murray, children Keenan, Liam, and Maggie), Patrick Murray (wife Sarah Murray, children Kate and Michael), Colleen Lyon (husband John Lyon), Margaret Lamarre (husband Dennis Lamarre, son Sean Lamarre), Brendan Murray (wife Dana Thomas, children James Murray and Grant Murray), Tara Perry (husband Scot Perry, children Colin, Megan, and Max).

He was preceded in death by his wife Cecelia Hall Murray, father George Murray, mother Teresa Murray, and brother Michael Murray.

Tim will be remembered for his love of language, his prolific vocabulary and his clever and humorous turn of phrase. He was a gifted frame artisan and enjoyed bringing works of art to life through his excellent craftsmanship. He began his career at the prestigious Veerrhoff Gallery in Washington, DC. He continued mastering his craft in Detroit Michigan at the Cranbrook Art Museum. He transferred his skills to high end cabinet making at Hardwood Designs in Durham, NC. He was creative and gifted cook. He loved the art of cooking and learning new recipes. 

He will perhaps be remembered most by his family and friends for his kind heart and his infectious smile. He could light up a room wherever he went.
