Winston Keith Martin, a talented aspiring musician, was born on April 10, 2004, in Bel Air, Maryland, and passed away on August 6, 2025, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, surrounded by his family. He was just 21 years old at the time of his passing.
A gifted artist, Winston had recently achieved a proud milestone by releasing his first song a mere month before he left this world. His passion for music extended beyond his own creations; he generously shared his knowledge, nurturing the talent of others while sharing his love for the instrument. In addition to guitar, he was also skilled in singing/songwriting and playing the keyboard and drums, showcasing his versatility and extraordinary musical abilities.
Winston was pursuing higher education, working hard towards a degree at Vol State in Nashville, Tennessee, after having completed his high school diploma. His dedication to both his faith and music reflected the depth of his wonderfully spirited character. He was deeply loved by his family and peers, and his vibrant personality was marked by an ever-present sense of kindness and compassion for others.
He is survived by his father Al Martin, his loving mother, Hillary Locke Skinner, and her husband Jay; his brothers, Zachery Martin (Stephanie) and Logan Martin; his sisters Samantha Martin Hardy (Mitchell) and Katie Skinner. Winston also cherished his nephews, Grayson and Bennett Martin, and held close relationships with his grandfather, Keith Locke (Patty), and his grandmother, Doris Jean Locke; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved cat, Andy.
Winston's legacy will continue to live on through his selfless acts, as he saved five lives through organ donation, a testament to his amazing heart. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we remember Winston Keith Martin, we celebrate the brilliance he brought into the world and the love he shared so freely.
